Kampala Metropolitan Police arrest four suspects in motorcycle theft crackdown
Kampala Metropolitan Police have arrested four suspects and recovered several suspected stolen motorcycles following intelligence-led operations. The crackdown targeted the theft and illegal disposal of motorcycles.
During the investigation, police recovered a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle from a resident in Rubaga Division. Interrogations revealed that other stolen motorcycles had been sold to suspects in the Rakai District, where one individual admitted to purchasing a motorcycle for UGX 500,000 before dismantling it for spare parts.
Authorities have also recovered a motorcycle from the Wansaso Zone that had been stripped of its number plates. Police are continuing investigations to identify the wider network involved in the theft and dismantling of these vehicles.
