Kampala police investigate mother after killing two children in Ggaba

Police in Kampala are investigating a violent incident in Ggaba Parish where a mother, identified as Dorothy Namayo, allegedly stabbed her five children, resulting in the deaths of 14-year-old Khadija Daisy Traore and another child. Three other children were injured; two have been discharged from Mulago Hospital, while one remains under medical care.

Namayo also reportedly attempted suicide by stabbing herself and set property on fire. She is currently admitted to Mulago Hospital under police guard in stable condition. In statements to detectives, Namayo attributed her actions to prolonged marital conflicts and domestic violence. Her husband, Malian national Ederisa Troe, also provided a statement confirming ongoing domestic disputes.

The deceased children were laid to rest at Kololo Muslim Cemetery on August 21, 2026. Investigators have collected CCTV footage from the surrounding area and recorded statements from neighbors and first responders to establish the exact sequence of the stabbing, attempted suicide, and arson.
