Kampung Sagu receives RM2.25 million in infrastructure upgrades

Residents of Kampung Sagu in Sebuyau have received new infrastructure and community facilities totaling RM2.25 million through the Sarawak Government’s Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

Key developments include a 6.2-kilometer treated water pipe connection from the Jabatan Bekalan Air Luar Bandar (JBALB) Sarawak grid, costing RM1.7 million. This project ensures the village has access to clean, treated water.

Additionally, a new community hall equipped with badminton courts was completed at a cost of approximately RM350,000. A new futsal court, costing roughly RM200,000, was also finished ahead of schedule to provide recreational space for local youth. These projects were officially inaugurated by Sarawak Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Dato Sri Haji Julaihi Haji Narawi.
