Kana Sato, former Yomiuri TV announcer, joins Twin Planet talent agency

Former Yomiuri TV announcer Kana Sato announced on August 8 that she has signed with the entertainment agency Twin Planet, becoming the first freelance announcer the agency has taken on. The agency’s statement highlighted her experience in hosting, narration, variety shows and commentary, and expressed confidence in her future projects.

Sato, a Keio University graduate who began at Yomiuri TV in 2019, left the broadcaster at the end of July. She also revealed that she married Naoto Ikeda, a member of the comedy duo Rainbow, in a surprise announcement on July 7. In her own comments, Sato said she will continue to build on her announcing experience while embracing new challenges in her new environment.

Twin Planet’s roster now includes other personalities such as Nana Suzuki and Anna Murashige, and Sato’s move marks a notable crossover from traditional broadcasting to the entertainment sector.
