Kanayama Station implements digital twin tools and Earth-viewing signage
NeoRealX has developed an advertising space simulation tool designed for the large-scale digital signage at Kanayama Station in Nagoya, Japan. Utilizing XR and digital twin technology, the tool allows advertisers and creators to virtually replicate the station environment to preview how creative content will appear from various passenger perspectives and movement paths. This addresses the challenge of visualizing how advertisements interact across multiple, differently shaped screens within a physical space.
In conjunction with this technology, the “TerraCaster” platform—a collaboration between Nippon Television Network Corporation and Bascule—will begin broadcasting high-definition Earth imagery via the “Sky Media Kanayama” signage starting September 1, 2026. The display features a 67-meter transparent LED ceiling vision and 12 large hanging LED screens. The TerraCaster program will provide a two-and-a-half-minute immersive experience once every hour, using meteorological satellite data from the Himawari satellite to offer passengers a view of Earth from space.
