Kandahar road accident kills five and injures 15

A head-on collision between a truck and a bus in the Daman district of Kandahar province, Afghanistan, resulted in five deaths and 15 injuries on Thursday morning. Provincial traffic police director Mohammad Tahir confirmed the incident, noting that some of the injured are in critical condition.

This accident follows a series of recent road fatalities in the region, including an incident in Takhar province on September 23 that killed eight people, and a bus plunging into a ravine in Lagman province on September 22. Local authorities have cited speeding and driver negligence as recurring issues contributing to the rise in road accidents across the country.
