Kandıra attracts summer tourists with Blue Flag beaches and nature trails
Kandıra, a district of Kocaeli on the Black Sea coast, has become a popular summer destination due to tourism investments by the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality. The region features several Blue Flag beaches, including Kerpe, Cebeci, Kumcağız, Kovanağzı, Bağırganlı, and Seyrek. Notably, the Miço Koyu Women’s Beach in Kerpe offers dedicated areas for female visitors.
Beyond beach tourism, the area provides diverse nature and history exploration routes. Key landmarks include Kefken Island, Pink Rocks (Pembe Kayalar), and Eagle Cliffs (Kartal Kayalıkları). For nature enthusiasts, the 90-kilometer Zambak Yolu walking trail runs along the Kandıra coastline, offering scenic views where the forest meets the sea.
