Kang Ho-dong re-elected President of ICAO

Kang Ho-dong, Chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Nonghyup), has been re-elected as the President of the International Cooperative Alliance Agriculture (ICAO). The election took place during the ICAO General Assembly held in Panama City, Panama.

Following his re-election, Kang will serve a new four-year term and will also be re-appointed as a director of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA). ICAO, established in 1951, represents approximately 1 billion cooperative members globally and currently includes 45 agricultural cooperative institutions from 35 countries.

During his tenure, Kang has focused on initiatives such as the ‘ICAO Seoul Declaration,’ which addresses food security, climate change response, and the empowerment of young and female farmers. He has also worked to share South Korea's agricultural development experiences with international member organizations.
