Kang Jun solo exhibition ‘IN-OUT’ held at Bonghwa Jeongja Cultural Life Center

The Bonghwa Jeongja Cultural Life Center is hosting a solo exhibition titled ‘IN-OUT’ by artist Kang Jun at the Nujeong Gallery. The exhibition, which opened on September 2 and runs until October 10, showcases the evolution of Kang’s artistic style from figurative landscapes to abstract compositions.

The title ‘IN-OUT’ represents the artist’s creative process: external landscapes enter his memory (IN) and are reconfigured through thought and sensation to emerge as new visual works (OUT). Visitors can compare his early works, which focused on recognizable natural elements like mountains, fields, and trees, with his recent works that emphasize color, planes, lines, and structure.

Kang Jun, a professor at Dongyang University, has held 51 solo exhibitions since 1991. The exhibition aims to provide local residents and visitors with a high-quality cultural experience while highlighting how familiar scenery can be transformed into new formative languages.
