Kangal puppies discovered in badger burrow in Sivas
In the rural district of Gürün, Sivas, a rare occurrence was discovered when a shepherd, Ramazan Kaya, heard unusual noises coming from an underground badger burrow. Initially suspecting the sounds belonged to fox cubs, Kaya used a flashlight to investigate and discovered newborn Kangal puppies inside the burrow.
It is believed the mother Kangal chose the badger burrow as a safe place to give birth. After the mother did not return to the site for two days, local residents Samet Yıldırım and others stepped in to care for the puppies. The rescuers have been hand-feeding the animals and monitoring their health, noting that the puppies appear to be in good condition.
