Kangana Ranaut asserts independent identity from BJP

Actor and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut has addressed her political identity, stating that she is ‘not a puppet’ and acknowledging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may not support her in the future.

In an interview with DD National, Ranaut explained that while her alignment with the party is natural, she occasionally makes strong statements to ensure her individual voice is heard amidst political noise. She emphasized that her identity is anchored in a 20-year acting legacy rather than her two-year political career.

Ranaut also expressed that she is not concerned about the possibility of not receiving a future election ticket for the Mandi constituency. She noted that her personal and professional identity remains intact regardless of political circumstances, citing her ongoing appeal to film directors and her interests in filmmaking and writing.
