Comedian Kunal Kamra criticized Ranaut after a video surfaced showing her rebuking officials regarding delays in development works and government scheme implementation. Kamra mocked her conduct, referring to her as a ‘semi-literate imposter’ and questioning her effectiveness in her role.

Separately, Ranaut addressed social media criticism regarding a video of her preparing Janmashtami bhog at her family home. Users questioned her cooking methods, specifically noting that the gas appeared to be off while she was stirring a pan. Ranaut responded by explaining that the ingredients are prepared separately before being mixed in that final phase.
