Kangnam discusses Pokemon card collecting hobby on YouTube

During an appearance on the YouTube variety show ‘Zzanbro’ hosted by Shin Dong-yup, entertainer Kangnam discussed his hobby of collecting Pokemon cards. Kangnam noted that a previous video involving his wife, Lee Sang-hwa, regarding his collection, reached 10 million views within a week, marking his highest viewership in five years.

Addressing questions about whether his collection is for investment purposes, Kangnam compared his passion to wealthy individuals who collect fine art, stating that looking at the cards makes his heart race due to genuine enjoyment rather than purely financial motives. He mentioned that the market has seen significant highs, noting a case where a card was resold for 24 billion won.

Fellow guest Roy Kim shared that he was inspired to purchase a Charizard card after watching Kangnam’s content. While Kangnam’s hobby has gained attention, including a recent video featuring a 50 million won card, it has also sparked debate among viewers regarding the ethics of high-cost personal hobbies.
