Kangra Court Sentences Man to Three Years for Child Abuse and Trespass

A Fast Track Special Court (POCSO) in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, sentenced Ajay Kumar, a resident of Barota village, to three years of rigorous imprisonment under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and an additional two years under Section 333 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for house‑trespass. The court also imposed fines of Rs 5,000 for each offence, with a default month of simple imprisonment if the fines are not paid.

The judgment was delivered on July 30, following an FIR filed on July 17, 2025 at the Indora police station in Nurpur district. Himachal Pradesh Police highlighted their commitment to thorough investigation and strict action in cases involving crimes against children.
