Kanika Dhillon discusses gender equality in Bollywood

Filmmaker Kanika Dhillon addressed the pursuit of equality and parity for women in Bollywood during the ‘Women Building Indian Cinema’ panel in Mumbai. The event, a collaboration between Sikhya Entertainment and Women in Film India, aimed to foster networking and collaboration among female professionals, including writers, directors, actors, and producers.

Panelists included Taapsee Pannu, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Madhu Chopra. The discussion focused on the importance of women creating opportunities for one another and the increasing influence of women-led narratives in the industry. Dhillon noted that while the industry has taken significant first steps toward parity, the journey toward meaningful change remains ongoing.
