The Kankankoura Primary School in the Kankan urban commune of Guinea is facing severe operational challenges ahead of the new school year. Established in 1959, the historic institution suffers from advanced structural degradation, dilapidated classrooms, and a critical shortage of desks and furniture.

The school currently manages 20 pedagogical groups with 20 teachers and four administrative staff members. School director Aboubacar Samoura noted that despite the extremely difficult working conditions and unpresentable facilities, the staff remains committed to educating the students.
