Kanna Hashimoto and Chae Jong‑hyup lead new Japanese drama ‘The Laws of Vacation’

Korean actor Chae Jong‑hyup will co‑star with Japanese actress Kanna Hashimoto in the ABEMA original drama “The Laws of Vacation”, slated to premiere on July 27. The series will be delivered in 15‑minute episodes broadcast on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, for a total of 18 episodes.

Written and directed by manga creator Akiko Higashimura, the story follows stressed office worker Hoshino Midori (Hashimoto) who meets the mysterious seaside‑villa manager Nishiue (Chae) during a summer getaway, a “detox romance”. Netflix will begin worldwide streaming on July 31. This marks Chae’s first leading role in a Japanese prime‑time drama, following his earlier appearance in TBS’s “Eye Love You”.
