Kannada film Anantha Payana set for November 27 release
The upcoming Kannada film Anantha Payana is scheduled for theatrical release on November 27. Directed by and starring Sri Kaka, the film focuses on the lives, seasonal migrations, and systemic hardships of nomadic shepherd communities in North Karnataka.
The project was formally introduced at Belagavi’s Rani Chennamma Circle during a Kannada Rajyotsava gathering, where Minister Satish Jarkiholi unveiled the track ‘Nanna Kambali’. The film is described as both an ethnography and a survival drama, exploring the conflicts faced by migratory clans due to modern urban expansion.
Produced by Santhosh Ashok Hegde under Shree Ashok Films and SK Film Factory, the movie features an ensemble cast including Nivishka Patil, Bala Rajwadi, and Manjunath Hegde. The soundtrack includes six musical tracks with contributions from artists such as Kailash Kher, Jaskaran Singh, and Prithwi Bhat. Filming took place in Belagavi, Bengaluru, and the borderlands of Maharashtra.
