Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Lauded for Good Governance and Financial Management

Kano State’s Finance Commissioner, Dr. Ismail Danmaraya, defended the administration’s public‑financial‑management record, saying critics relied on data from 2017‑2022 rather than the current 2020‑2025 period. He highlighted the publication of audited financial statements, sector performance audits, quarterly budget‑implementation reports and simplified citizen‑budget documents, noting recognitions from bodies such as the World Bank, IMF and Open Government Partnership.

Public‑affairs analyst Mallam Abdulmalik Suleiman praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for high transparency, accountability and service‑delivery outcomes across Kano’s 44 local government areas. He described the governor as a “silent achiever” whose project monitoring and budgeting have deepened citizen trust, while warning that opposition groups were spreading false accusations.
