Kano Governor Yusuf commissions pensioners’ headquarters in Abuja

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has commissioned the Comrade Godwin Abumisi Pensioners’ Legacy House in Abuja, which serves as the corporate headquarters for the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP).

During the event, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration's commitment to retiree welfare, noting that the state has settled ₦32 billion of the ₦48.6 billion in gratuity liabilities inherited by his administration. He also highlighted the decision to increase the minimum pension in Kano State from ₦5,000 to ₦20,000 to address the rising cost of living. The Governor pledged to clear the remaining pension backlog before the end of his tenure.
