Kano man arrested for shooting wedding guests over noise

A 34-year-old man, Rabiu Mukthar, was arrested after allegedly opening fire on wedding guests in the Tudun Yola Quarters of Kano State. The shooting resulted in one death and left three others injured.

According to the Kano State Police Command, Mukthar used a pump-action gun to fire at the gathering. Investigators stated that the suspect claimed the loud music from the ceremony disrupted his sleep and noted that organizers had not informed him of the event beforehand.

Police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed that the weapon used was recovered and that Mukthar, along with another suspect, is being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department while the investigation continues.
