Kano State appoints Emir of Rano as Amirul Hajj for 2027

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umar, the Emir of Rano, as the Amirul Hajj for the 2027 pilgrimage. The announcement was made during a visit to the Rano Emirate for the wedding and turbaning ceremony of the Emir’s eldest son, Muhammad Abubakar Isa.

The appointment follows a tradition of rotating Hajj delegation leadership among the state’s traditional rulers. The Governor noted that the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr Abdulkadir Ibrahim, led the delegation during the previous pilgrimage.

Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umar and members of the Rano Emirate expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to support the state government in coordinating a successful Hajj operation in 2027.
