Kano State Police arrest 79 suspects during Takutaha celebration

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 79 suspects and recovered weapons and illicit drugs following security operations conducted during the 2026 Takutaha celebration. The command reported that the festivities were observed peacefully across the state due to proactive, intelligence-led security arrangements.

Police officials credited the successful outcome to the cooperation of residents, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders. The operations were carried out under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police in accordance with directives from the Inspector-General of Police.
