Kano woman remanded for alleged fatal stabbing of husband

A Kano Magistrates’ Court has ordered the remand of Khadija Sa’idu following her arraignment on charges of culpable homicide. Sa’idu, a resident of Kumbotso Local Government Area, is accused of stabbing her husband, Auwal Adam, to death.

According to prosecution details, the incident occurred following a dispute regarding Sa’idu’s request to attend a social gathering. It is alleged that after her husband declined the request, Sa’idu stabbed him in the chest and neck while he was asleep. Although Adam was taken to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, medical staff confirmed he had succumbed to his injuries.

The case has been adjourned until September 8 to allow the prosecution to obtain legal advice from state counsel.
