KANONENFIEBER releases WWI‑inspired single “Meine Lieben”
German band KANONENFIEBER has released a new single titled “Meine Lieben”, accompanied by a lyric video. The song is built from the last letters sent by Philipp Schopp, a Hesse infantryman who fought in the First World War, and was created as part of the band’s “Soldatenschicksale” project that invited fans to share wartime family documents.
The correspondence, supplied by Schopp’s descendants, recounts his hopes, fears and eventual death in 1916 after a grenade fragment killed him. The band says the track preserves his story and serves as a reminder of war’s personal toll. The release also coincides with the announcement of KANONENFIEBER’s European “Kriegstage 2027” tour, which will visit cities across Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary and more.
