Kanpur viral videos capture marriage dispute and homeguard assault

In the Chakeri area of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a woman interrupted a wedding ceremony at a guest house, alleging that the 32‑year‑old groom was already married and had not obtained a legal divorce. The confrontation prompted a heated argument, and police arriving at the scene detained the parties and took them to the local police station for investigation.

Separately, on a National Highway underpass near the Carigul petrol pump in Kanpur, a woman seized a traffic‑on‑duty homeguard, slapping, kicking and pulling his uniform after a reported collision. The incident was recorded and the video spread on social media, causing a temporary traffic slowdown. Police have launched an inquiry but have not yet filed a formal complaint.
