Kansas City arts scene announces fall 2026 season lineups

Kansas City is entering a busy autumn season for performing arts, featuring various theatrical productions and outdoor musical events.

Local theaters are launching their 2026-27 seasons. Notable upcoming productions include ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ at Music Theater Heritage through September 13, ‘Come From Away’ at Spencer Theatre at UMKC through September 20, and ‘Disney’s Newsies’ at Starlight Theatre through September 13. Additionally, ‘Eureka Day’ will be staged at City Stage at Union Station until September 27.

The Kansas City Symphony has also announced its fall 2026 lineup for the Mobile Music Box. This program offers free outdoor chamber music concerts at 14 different local parks across the metro area. The series began during the COVID-19 pandemic and will run from September 10 at Antioch Park through October 27 at Lake Olathe.
