Kansas City Chiefs claim Jack Pyburn and Bryson Eason off waivers

The Kansas City Chiefs have made several roster moves following the announcement of their 53-man roster, including claiming two rookies off waivers. The team claimed linebacker and edge rusher Jack Pyburn from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and defensive tackle Bryson Eason from the San Francisco 49ers.

Pyburn’s acquisition ends significant speculation regarding a potential return to college football at LSU. Pyburn had been a primary plaintiff in a Louisiana lawsuit involving more than 30 athletes seeking to utilize new NCAA eligibility rules. A temporary restraining order had previously offered a path for players to return to college by terminating professional contracts and repaying earnings, but the waiver claim by the Chiefs effectively concludes that possibility for Pyburn.

In addition to these claims, the Chiefs released several players to finalize their roster, including defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, cornerback Kaiir Elam, and quarterback Chris Oladokun. The team also placed wide receiver Jimmy Holiday on injured reserve and moved defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott to the physically unable to perform list.
