Kansas City Chiefs host player workouts amid roster preparations
The Kansas City Chiefs are conducting final roster preparations ahead of the NFL season opener. As part of these efforts, the team officially hosted 10 players for workouts, including tight ends Rivaldo Fairweather and Cody Hardy, and wide receivers Xavier Gipson and Cam Ross.
Regarding individual player development, wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea noted that rookie wide receiver Cyrus Allen is currently working to overcome the mental challenges of NFL play calling. O’Shea stated that Allen’s primary hurdle is becoming accustomed to processing play calls in the huddle, ensuring correct alignment, and managing spacing within the formation. The complexity of head coach Andy Reid’s offensive scheme often presents a steep learning curve for rookie receivers.
