Kansas City Chiefs kick off 2026‑27 training camp as Mahomes returns and rookie Delane rehabs
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes rejoined the Kansas City Chiefs' training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, after several months of rehabilitation from an injury sustained last season. The 30‑year‑old was cleared for full participation and began practicing with the squad as the team prepares for the 2026‑27 NFL season.
First‑round draft pick cornerback Mansoor Delane also took part in the opening practice, wearing a yellow non‑contact jersey while working through a shoulder injury. Delane told reporters his conditioning is improving and expects to be at 100 percent soon. Head coach Andy Reid praised both Mahomes' readiness and Delane's work ethic, noting the players are progressing well as the Chiefs build toward preseason games.
