Kansas City Royals recall Carlos Duran, option Lucas Erceg

The Kansas City Royals have announced roster changes involving their pitching staff. Right-handed pitcher Carlos Duran has been recalled from Triple-A Omaha to make his major league debut. Duran, a 25-year-old acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Kris Bubic, brings significant velocity to the bullpen, averaging a 96.5 mph fastball.

In a corresponding move, the Royals have optioned 34-year-old right-hander Lucas Erceg to Triple-A Omaha following recent performances. The decision aims to allow Erceg time to regain his form while integrating Duran into the active roster.
