Kansas City Summer Events Lineup for Late July and August

Kansas City will host a series of public events as summer winds down. Highlights include the Celebrate Ameri’kana music and arts festival featuring local acts such as Making Movies and the Salvation Choir, a concert by British folk‑rock band Mumford & Sons promoting their new album, and the Kansas City Invitational Black Rodeo showcasing barrel racing, bull riding and other rodeo competitions. The 20th‑anniversary MR340 nonstop river race also returns.

Additional family‑friendly activities are scheduled throughout August, ranging from the Missouri State Fair and the KC Sunflower Festival to park concerts, outdoor movies, a Hello Kitty Café truck, and a variety of youth sports and safety days organized by local museums and community groups.
