Kansas volleyball defeats Ole Miss 3-0 in Jayhawk Classic opener

The Ole Miss volleyball team lost its opening match of the Jayhawk Classic, falling 3-0 to No. 22 Kansas at the Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.

In the first set, Kansas secured a 25-19 victory after capitalizing on a late run. The second set was more competitive, with Ole Miss erasing a 20-16 deficit to tie the score at 20-20. However, a successful challenge by Kansas reversed a call, allowing the Jayhawks to maintain momentum and win the set 25-22. Kansas dominated the third set, finishing the match with a 25-13 win.

Ole Miss was led by Melia Johnson, who recorded eight kills and three digs, and Keirstyn Carlton, who returned from injury to contribute four kills and four blocks. The Rebels will conclude their non-conference schedule on Saturday against Grand Canyon.
