Kantonspolizei Aargau launches digital reporting pilot and new video series
The Aargau Cantonal Police in Switzerland is introducing new digital initiatives to improve public accessibility and engagement.
A pilot project for a ‘Digital Support Base’ is scheduled to launch on October 1, 2026. This six-month initiative will allow residents and individuals affected by crimes within the canton to file selected reports via videoconference. Users can book appointments online to speak with an officer, who will record necessary details, answer questions, and explain subsequent procedures. The project aims to provide time- and location-independent access to services while relieving pressure on physical police stations.
Additionally, the force is continuing its media outreach through the series ‘Young Cops’. The second season, titled ‘Team im Einsatz’, is set to release this Sunday at 9:00 AM on the police department’s website and YouTube channel. The series uses a format tailored to online and streaming audiences to provide insight into daily police work.
