Kanye West concert in Portugal challenged by Israeli ambassador's cancellation plea

American rapper Kanye West, performing under the name Ye, is scheduled to play on Friday, 7 August, at the Estádio do Algarve in Loulé, Portugal. It will be his third show in the country, with tickets reportedly 99 % sold out and prices ranging from €100 to €209. The concert is part of a new international tour promoting his album Bully.

Israel’s ambassador to Portugal, Oren Rozenblat, released a video urging Portuguese authorities to cancel the event, accusing West of glorifying Adolf Hitler, promoting anti‑Semitism and making offensive statements about slavery. Rozenblat said the artist’s remarks have led to visa revocations and concert bans in several nations, including Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Switzerland and Slovakia. He appealed to the mayor of Faro and to the public, calling the concert a “shame” for Portugal if it proceeds.

Despite the diplomatic pressure, the concert remains on the agenda, with organizers confirming the venue will open at 17:00 and the show will start at 21:00, while minors must be accompanied by an adult.
