Kanye West concert in Jakarta generates Rp450 billion economic impact
Rapper Kanye West, known professionally as Ye, performed his first solo concert in Indonesia at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium on October 24, 2026. The 'Ye Live in Jakarta' event featured a 360-degree 'Globe Stage' and a setlist of 32 songs, attracting an estimated 50,000 to 70,000 attendees.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung reported that the concert generated an economic impact of approximately Rp450 billion, with ticket sales alone accounting for Rp328 billion. This figure includes secondary economic activities from fans staying in the city before and after the event. The Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) noted that such large-scale international events demonstrate Indonesia's potential as a major destination for global tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).
The concert served as the only stop in Southeast Asia and Oceania for the artist's 2026 tour. This drew significant international crowds, including many fans from Australia who traveled to Jakarta because the Australian government had revoked the rapper's visa following controversial statements.
