Kanye West seeks to exclude antisemitic posts from discrimination trial

Kanye West, also known as Ye, is seeking to prevent a Los Angeles judge from using his past antisemitic social media posts as evidence in an upcoming racial discrimination trial. The legal move pertains to a lawsuit filed by Benjamin Provo, a former security guard at the now-defunct Donda Academy.

Provo alleges that West and his management team subjected Black employees to less favorable treatment than white staff. The complaint claims West frequently berated Black employees while maintaining a different tone with white staff. Additionally, Provo, who is Black and Muslim, alleges he was fired for refusing to cut his dreadlocks for religious reasons and claims he was paid less per hour than white colleagues.

West’s legal team argues that the inflammatory posts—which include claims of being a Nazi and photos in Nazi attire—are irrelevant to the employment claims. They contend that some posts cannot be authenticated, others were made outside the period of Provo’s employment, and some were posted by third parties or former associates rather than West himself.
