The Diamond League finals in Brussels saw several historic performances and title victories across multiple track and field events.
In the men’s 100m, Jamaica’s Oblique Seville claimed his first Diamond League title with a time of 9.90 seconds. He was followed by Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme in second, while Nigeria’s Kanyinsola Ajayi secured a historic bronze in 9.97 seconds, marking the first time a Nigerian man has medaled in this event at a Diamond League final.
Saint Lucian Julien Alfred continued her dominance in the women’s 200m, winning her third consecutive Diamond League title with a time of 21.79 seconds. The podium was completed by American Kayla White in second and Great Britain’s Amy Hunt in third.
In the women’s 100m, Tina Clayton of Jamaica won the title with a time of 10.93 seconds. Meanwhile, in the women’s 100m hurdles, American Masai Russell set a meet record of 12.20 seconds to take the crown, ahead of Devynne Charlton and Megan Simmonds.
Other notable results included Tajay Gayle winning the men’s long jump and Rajindra Campbell securing a national record in the men’s shot put.
