Kaohsiung announces rental for Asia New Bay Area smart social housing

The Kaohsiung City Government has announced the commencement of rental applications for the first phase of the Asia New Bay Area Smart Social Housing project. The first phase, consisting of 634 units, is nearing completion and is expected to receive its occupancy permit by October 30. Applications will be accepted from November 19 to December 18.

The residential complex features various layouts, including studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units. Rents are tiered based on household income, with studio apartments starting at approximately 7,990 TWD and three-bedroom units at 14,900 TWD, both including management fees. The project is designed to support the growing workforce in the nearby 5G AIoT industrial cluster by providing proximity to light rail and metro stations.

In addition to housing, the site will include childcare centers, kindergartens, and elderly care facilities. A second phase, involving 659 units via public-private urban renewal, is scheduled to begin construction in early November. To qualify, applicants must be adults with residency, employment, or schooling in Kaohsiung, own no property in the city, and have an average monthly household income below 59,395 TWD.
