Kaohsiung Labor Bureau launches mobile career counseling initiative
The Kaohsiung City Labor Affairs Bureau has launched the ‘Career Prescription Office’ (職涯開方所) initiative, a mobile service designed to bring employment resources and career counseling directly into local communities. The program utilizes digital tools to allow citizens to conduct personality assessments via their smartphones.
To make the process engaging, the assessment results are translated into 16 different ‘traditional Chinese medicine roles.’ For instance, the ‘Lingzhi type’ is characterized as a ‘strategic blueprint architect’ suited for project planning, while the ‘Mint type’ is described as a ‘creative idea breaker’ ideal for marketing or roles requiring flexibility. Other examples include the ‘Artemisia type,’ suited for technical and maintenance work, and the ‘Honeysuckle type,’ suited for creative event planning.
The initiative aims to break the limitations of traditional fixed-point appointments by visiting temples, universities, remote communities, and recruitment events. Upcoming scheduled sessions include October 17 at the Lingya Sports Center and October 23 at the Guanshanli Activity Center in Jiaxian District. The bureau intends to continue providing these localized services to help citizens identify their strengths and connect with public employment resources.
