Kaohsiung to host upgraded Halloween festival at Weiwuying
The Kaohsiung City Government has announced an upgraded Halloween celebration at the Weiwuying National Park from October 30 to November 1. A major highlight of this year's event is the final exhibition of the 22-meter giant pumpkin, which will feature 360-degree animation projection technology to create a “flying pumpkin” effect.
Key attractions include a dual-stage setup, nine themed photo zones, and a “Parent-Child Starlight Avenue” for costume parades held on October 31 and November 1. The event will also feature performances from popular children's media IPs, including YOYO, MOMO, and the Paper Windmill Troupe, alongside a creative market with over 250 stalls.
To manage expected crowds, local authorities have coordinated with the police and transportation departments to implement traffic controls. Officials recommend that visitors use public transportation, specifically the Kaohsiung MRT Orange Line to Weiwuying Station, to avoid congestion around the venue.
