Kaohsiung woman sentenced for assaulting police officer at KTV
A woman surnamed Yeh has been sentenced to 50 days of detention with two years of probation after assaulting a police officer in Kaohsiung. The incident occurred in February at a KTV establishment while officers were responding to a dispute between patrons.
According to court records, Yeh repeatedly used her body to collide with an officer from the Zuoying Police Station. During the confrontation, she reportedly insulted the officer with provocative remarks, including questioning his personal life and calling him an ‘idiot’.
While initially charged with both obstruction of justice and public insult, the officer reached a mediation agreement with Yeh, leading to the withdrawal of the public insult charge. The Kaohsiung District Court sentenced her for obstruction of justice, noting that while her violent behavior was improper, she admitted to the crime and had no prior criminal record.
