Kaohung District Prosecutors Office partners with Weiwuying National Arts Center
The Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office has established a first-of-its-kind partnership with the Weiwuying National Arts Center to serve as a social labor institution. This initiative allows individuals performing social labor to assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the arts center, specifically addressing issues such as bird droppings in the Tree Canopy Hall.
During a recent inspection by Hung Hsin-hsu, Director of the Protection and Parole Administration, and Prosecutor General Huang Yuan-kuan, officials highlighted the success of community-based treatment policies. These policies aim to implement a ‘warm and felt flexible justice’ approach, allowing individuals serving short-term sentences to reintegrate into society while maintaining family and work stability.
Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office reported a social labor completion rate of 75.96% for the current year, significantly exceeding the national average of 67.99%. The office has expanded its network to include 19 different types of public institutions, non-profit organizations, and community development associations as social labor sites.
