Kaohung driver killed in single-vehicle crash

A 46-year-old man surnamed Huang died in a single-vehicle accident in the Siaogang District of Kaohsiung early on October 29. According to police, the incident occurred around 3:44 a.m. as Huang was driving home from work near the intersection of Daye South Road and Zhongzhi Road.

CCTV footage shows the vehicle crossing into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons before colliding violently with a roadside tree. The driver was found trapped inside the heavily damaged car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities suspect the crash may have been caused by sudden physical illness or driver fatigue.

Following the incident, the Siaogang Police Precinct held a meeting to review traffic safety measures. Police plan to increase patrols, speed enforcement, and monitoring in accident-prone areas of Daye South Road to prevent future occurrences.
