Cappadocia Rally begins in Nevşehir as part of Turkish Championship

The 2026 Petrol Ofisi Maxima Turkish Rally Championship's fourth leg, the Cappadocia Rally, is taking place in Nevşehir from August 21 to 23. Organized by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), the event features 47 cars and 94 athletes competing on dirt tracks following three previous asphalt rallies.

The competition includes stages in Kayaşehir, Ürgüp's Sarıhıdır village, and concludes at the Paşa Bağları archaeological site. Local officials, including Nevşehir Governor Hüseyin Kök and Mayor Rasim Arı, emphasized the event's role in promoting the region's tourism and its potential to host international European championship events.

Drivers, including former champion Kerem Kazaz, noted the transition to dirt surfaces. The final day of the rally will see teams complete the Nevşehir Governor's Office and Petrol Ofisi Maxima stages twice before reaching the finish podium.
