Kapıköy Border Gate opens to reciprocal truck transit between Turkey and Iran
The Kapıköy Customs Gate, a key transit point between Turkey and Iran located in the Saray district of Van, has transitioned from one-way to reciprocal truck transit. Previously, the border crossing only permitted the entry of Iranian trucks into Turkey. Under the new arrangement, Turkish transport companies are now permitted to cross into Iran.
Necdet Takva, Chairman of the Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Van TSO), confirmed the development following successful negotiations with officials from Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province. This change is expected to enhance international trade, boost Van’s logistics sector, and increase commercial activity between the two nations.
