Kaplice organ restored for town’s music day celebration

The historic organ in the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Kaplice was fully restored and celebrated with a ceremonial inauguration on 28 July. The event marked the “organ baptism” at 16:00, featuring a performance by renowned Czech organist Varhan Orchestrovič Bauer.

The day continued with a percussion ensemble from the local music school and a concert by leading Czech percussionists Ladislav Bilan ml., Antonín Procházka and Matěj Diviš. The program combined folk, classical and contemporary works, and concluded with a public workshop allowing visitors to try the instruments under the artists’ guidance. The restoration was funded by the town, local donors and businesses, highlighting community support for preserving cultural heritage.
