Kara Bridge repairs cause gridlock on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Repair works on expansion joints at Kara Bridge caused significant traffic congestion on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday. The gridlock stretched from the bridge in Ogun State to the 7Up Junction in Lagos State, affecting motorists traveling from areas such as Ikeja, Agege, and Oshodi.

Security and traffic management personnel from the police, military, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps were deployed to manage the flow. Officials attempted to alternate vehicles to prevent a total lockdown, though motorists reported extreme delays and a lack of viable alternative routes for those heading toward Mowe.
