Karabağlar Mayor Helil Kınay launches joint project development workshop
Karabağlar Municipality organized a two‑day "Joint Project Development Training and Collaboration Workshop" at its main service building, bringing together civil‑society organisations, professional chambers and local residents. The event was aimed at producing concrete, data‑driven projects that would make the district more equitable, safe and livable.
Mayor Helil Kınay addressed participants, stressing that "this change we will do together, produce together, grow together" and highlighting the importance of turning ideas into actionable plans. Attendees received training on project writing, budgeting, target‑audience identification, problem‑solution framing and time management.
Four working groups emerged, each focusing on themes such as climate justice, maintenance services, safe pedestrian routes and visible youth. The groups presented four final projects titled “Urban Heat Islands Civil Monitoring and Advocacy”, “Living and Built Democracy”, “Walkable Streets, Livable Cities in Karabağlar” and “You Also Exist”. The mayor praised the projects as a strong start toward a more inclusive and resilient Karabağlar.
