Karabük University compiles 65 volumes of Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil's unpublished works
Karabük University has led a major academic project to compile the previously unpublished writings of Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil, a foundational figure in Turkish literature and modern novel writing. The collection consists of 65 volumes and includes texts that had previously only existed in newspapers and magazines.
The project was a collaborative effort involving more than 40 academics from 32 different universities. Led by Professor Selçuk Atay, the team utilized critical edition methods to ensure the works were published based on their original versions. The 36-month study aims to provide a complete literary record of Uşaklıgil, whose full body of work had not been entirely available to researchers and the public until now.
